Wow! i just saw one of these beached at the Salt River Rafting camp on the Salt River at Cibeque Camp 2 (Guides Ghetto)! Looks like it is still serviceable, but as i floated by, no frame or rigging was present… looked like the elder was just resting, mostly in shade, but getting a little warming sun on the old seams.
I have one of these. Manufactured in 1952, I acquired it and built a frame, splash guard, and sweeps for it in the late 60’s. An ideal raft for Idaho’s Middle Fork Salmon in lower water flows. Also ran it on the Main Salmon, Lower Salmon, and a few other places. Now it’s just in storage and looking for a new owner who will give it a fair chance.
