May 05, 2016 Twenty Years of Mr. and Mrs. Utah in the Audio-Visual Archive

One of the most unexpected collections in the Audio-Visual Archive is the Blair Dean Utah Natural Bodybuilding Video Collection (A0077), http://archiveswest.orbiscascade.org/ark:/80444/xv99673/. Featured above are Paula Kid and Ron Lee Kid competing in the 1983 Utah Bodybuilding Championships.

Over the course of a long career promoting drug free bodybuilding competitions through the National Gym Association (NGA), Dean collected professional and amateur videos of the Mr. and Mrs. Utah Natural Bodybuilding Championships and other similar events from 1983-2001, which he donated to Special Collections for digital preservation and research use.

These primary source documents offer a glimpse into twenty years of fitness trends and fashion and Utah bodybuilding culture. All of the videos in this collection have been digitized and are available to view on DVD in the Special Collections Reading Room.

Please visit the Special Collections Reading Room on Level 4 of the J. Marriott Library, Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm and Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.

    Looking for pictures of my self in 2005and 2006 masters and super heavyweight 05 red trunks 06 black trunks Steve Small put on the shows 05 point of the mountain and can’t remember 06 at maybe cotton wood high school thanks
