Aug 15, 2023 College of Nursing Celebrates 75th Anniversary
This September the U’s College of Nursing will turn 75! That’s 75 years of training the best nurses in Utah, which translates to thousands of Utahans receiving the best care in hospitals and clinics throughout the state.
The Marriott Library is proud to host the exhibit “Honoring Our Past, Inspiring Our Future,” which includes materials from the Spencer S. Eccles Health Sciences Library on level 1 near the elevators. The digital exhibition, “History of the College of Nursing” includes images from the Marriott Library’s Special Collections and the Eccles Health Sciences Library.
For the past 75 years the University of Utah College of Nursing has unified and inspired scientists, educators, clinicians, staff and students to design, lead and achieve improvements for the well-being of all. In 1948, the college became the first nursing college in the state of Utah. Since then, its faculty and staff have played a vital role in shaping the fields of nursing and gerontology.
The College of Nursing will be celebrating its 75th with a number of events during the U’s Homecoming Weekend, September 21 – 23, 2023.
