Graduate Student Events at the Marriott Library

The library has partnered with the Graduate School to bring graduate students into the library by providing workshops of campus resources and offering a time and space dedicated to writing. Here is the fall schedule of free events provided by the Graduate Student Services Committee:

Fall Social
September 18th (Wednesday), 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in Katherine’s Courtyard (Marriott Library, level 1)

Meet librarians at our fall social to get information on library services and resources, meet other grad students, see the Graduate Reading Room space and get some refreshments and swag. Complete this brief surveybefore arriving and another at the event to enter for a chance to win a prize—and help improve these events!

Dissertation and Thesis Writing Camp
October 7th – 9th (Monday through Wednesday), 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM in the Gould Auditorium (Marriott Library, level 1)

Spend 3 days with fellow graduate students focusing on writing efforts and attending workshops by various campus resources. Registration is limited and required; register by 9/20 at 5 p.m. to get a free lunch. Come for all or part of the event!

Graduate Student Writing Hours
View schedule, Room 1140 (Marriott Library Level 1)

Meet with peers and a librarian twice a month to write! These 2-hour accountability sessions will offer opportunities to meet peers and briefly learn about resources on a writing-related topic. The schedule and registration links are listed on the Graduate Student Resources page.

Watch the Graduate Student Resources page for information about future events. Questions? Reach out to Graduate Student Services Committee co-chair Annika Deutsch at annika.deutsch@utah.edu
