Book Arts Faculty Member Has Solo Exhibition at Finch Lane Gallery

Emily Tipps, Program Manager in the Marriott Library’s Book Arts Program and owner of High5 Press, has a solo exhibition opening on October 7 at Finch Lane Gallery.

The book is an invitational form—the opening of a proverbial “window” into another world, time or perspective. Yet engagement with the traditional codex is typically a private, contained affair: we hold the book (hand-sized, face-sized) and read silently, alone with the words in our minds. By altering the scale, format, and role of the reader, Tipps upsets expectations of the reading experience.”
