Have you been craving the movies, the theater, symphony, or ballet but maybe you’re a little apprehensive right now? Worry not; the Marriott Library offers numerous databases that pull from years of live performances and films from around the world and can be enjoyed from the comfort and safety of your dorm room or home. The titles below are just a sample of the many video databases available to the campus community. To locate more resources go to the Marriott Library’s homepage, www.lib.utah.edu, choose the Database tab, and by Type, scroll to the category Video.

    BroadwayHD’s mission is to promote and preserve live theatre, extending the reach of Broadway and Broadway-caliber shows to anyone, anywhere. These 16 recorded-live productions include Paula Vogel’s “Indecent,” Bill Irwin’s “Old Hats,” and Kevin Kline’s “Present Laughter” and “Cyrano de Bergerac”.
  • Met Opera on Demand
    Enjoy instant access to more than 700 full-length Met performances with the online streaming database for college and university libraries.
  • Shakespeare’s Globe on Screen
    These productions of 28 Shakespeare plays, and one play each by his contemporaries, Marlowe and Webster, were recorded live on the Globe Theatre stage in London and feature diverse casts and award-winning performances.
