Dean’s Message, August 2025

The first few weeks of the fall semester are always exciting. Here at the library, the excitement really heats-up on August 28, when we host our annual Fall Fest event.

Fall Fest is the place where students learn all that the library has to offer, plus there will be free food, prizes and a drawing for a Nintendo Switch. We’ll have info on everything from course materials, to GIS Services, to 3-D printing, to help with research and finding treasures in Special Collections. In short, it’s the place to be for those just starting at the U, as well as those wanting a library refresh.

In addition to the festivity of Fall Fest, we have a number of events happening this fall, so please take a look at our calendar. And we now have a Starbucks Café on level 1. This Starbucks has the full menu, offering an array of food and beverages from early morning to late evening.

Lastly, did you know that every student has a librarian assigned to them? Click here to find out who your subject specialist is.
