Celebrating Remarkable Women
Monday, March 4 kicks-off Women’s Week at the University of Utah. The Marriott Library will host the sixth annual Aileen H. Clyde 20th Century Women’s Legacy Lecture. We are delighted that Justice Christine M. Durham, retired Utah Supreme Court, will be this year’s speaker. Justice Durham is an inspiring example of women who have broken the gender barrier in their professional pursuits.
Along these same lines, the Aileen H. Clyde 20th Century Women’s Legacy Archive contains the stories of hundreds of extraordinary women who have helped shape this community. I would like to thank Mrs. Aileen Clyde for her contributions in founding this important archive. Because of the generosity of Mrs. Clyde and the members of the Clyde Board, we now have a repository that documents and celebrates the lives and contributions of remarkable women. And their scrapbooks, journals, photographs, and papers are available to students, scholars, and community users wishing to learn more. To learn more about this amazing archive and the important and moving stories contained within, watch the short video.
I hope you will join us on Thursday, March 7, to hear from Justice Christine M. Durham, whose words will no doubt inspire us.
