The faculty and staff in the Katherine W. Dumke Fine Arts & Architecture Library are dedicated to assisting our visitors with their scholarly and creative endeavors. We work directly with the students and faculty in the College of Fine Arts and the College of Architecture + Planning to provide the resources and training they need to teach, learn, and complete their research. However, we are also eager to assist anyone who has creative interests and welcome visitors from any department or background.
If you come to us with a question you will discover that we have librarians that specialize in the visual arts, the performing arts, architecture, and music. We have technology like a music composition station, an oversized scanner, and a media editing station with a VHS and mini DV transfer deck. Finally, we have large, open tables that are ideal for group and individual study.
The highlight of the Fine Arts & Architecture Library is our extraordinary set of collections. The Fine Arts Showcase houses items ranging from exhibition catalogs, to music scores, to architectural plans and construction documents. We also have one-of-a-kind collections like our Latin American Avant-Garde artist books and rare volumes on Japanese ceremonial architecture. Outside of the showcase we have our Materials Collection, with 1000 innovative material samples curated for research in design and material science. Our diverse collections and our various areas of expertise allow us to address creative endeavors from many angles, giving our visitors a unique and valuable service.
Please come and visit us and explore all that we have to offer!
