Good News & Great Work From the Library

We are always excited to recognize great work and accomplishments within the library.

First, Amy Thompson, Book Arts Designer and Instructor, is going to have one of her pieces featured in an upcoming exhibition. Ink, Press, Repeat, is a “national juried exhibition of traditional and digital print media and book art by 37 professional artists from across the United States.” The exhibition will take place in the Ben Shahn Center for Visual Arts at the William Patterson University in New Jersey from January 27 to March 27.

Second, Janalyn Guo, Business Manager for the University of Utah Press, received the National Endowment for the Arts for the 2020 Creative Writing Fellowship. Guo is one of 36 writers who will receive this $25,000 endowment to be able to “set aside time for writing, research, travel, and general career advancement.” Janalyn Guo is the author of the short story collection, Our Colony Beyond the City of Ruins, which won the 2017 Subito Press Book Prize.

Congratulations to these two! We’re proud to be home to two very skilled and talented people.
