Library Employee Hired by Tesla!

Congratulations to Meagan Nielsen! She recently received the news that she will be working at Solar City starting in May. Solar City is a new branch of Tesla that specialized in solar power technologies.Originally a biology major, she transferred from New Mexico and soon began her degree in Environmental Science and Sustainability. “I felt like I wasn’t on the right path. Right away [after switching majors], I knew that this was it. I loved it so much.” Later, she began to develop a passion for the environment while taking a few classes in the major. Meagan discovered that the subject was “perfect” for her. “I had to have a job that had something to do with that,” she stated.

Meagan Nielsen has worked for the library for the full two years she’s been at the University of Utah. She says that her favorite part about working at the reserve desk on level two is the people. She shared that she’s been able to get to know and help her coworkers, boss, and even her professors. “Honestly, this job has really made life so much easier for me,” commented Nielsen. “I will always be incredibly grateful because I learned so much about the resources of the library. [It] really helped me financially and to meet new people. I will always be incredibly grateful for having this job.”
