New Libraries Business and Innovation Team to Help Students with Entrepreneurial Inventions and More

The Business and Innovation teams have combined together to create the Libraries Business & Innovation Team. Library faculty and staff from the Marriott Library and Eccles Health Sciences Library are available to help students, staff, and faculty across campus on their inventions, small businesses, or research projects. The team provides a variety of support in one-on-one meetings, group trainings, or classes on topics such as:

  1. Patent and Trademark Research: Members of our team can show best practices for researching prior art for your idea.
  2. Company market, and industry analysis: The team can help users access tools like Factiva and Mergent to learn more about specific companies, while tools like BCC Research and IBISWorld provide industry information.
  3. Private equity and venture capital deals: The team can also help patrons use PitchBook, a tool that contains information on private equity deals, venture capital deals, mergers, acquisitions, and more.
  4. 3D printing and scanning for protoyping: Members of the team who work with the libraries’ 3D printing resources can help you get started printing and scanning.
  5. Books, articles, and videos: The team can help you locate and access a variety of books, videos, articles, or other media. The team can also buy new materials to support your research or entrepreneurship.
