On display in the Special Collections Reading Room at the Marriott Library from August 11 through November 3, 2025, “Running with the Utes” invites visitors to explore the rich history of Utah football and Homecoming. Through photographs, video and artifacts, this exhibit showcases the evolution of the team, its traditions and the passionate community that surrounds it.

The exhibit invites visitors to discover the team’s early history, starting in 1892 when early squads struggled in games against local high school teams. Treasures from Special Collections show how legendary coaches like Ike Armstrong and Jack Curtice transformed the Utes into a powerhouse, persevering through times of trouble to build a legacy of excellence.

Visitors will encounter the unwavering spirit of Ute fans, who braved snowstorms and losing seasons to cheer on their team. Historic photographs and newspapers illustrate the evolution of the team name, fan song and gameday traditions.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan or new to Utah football, “Running with the Utes” offers a fascinating look at the growth of the Utah Utes football. Visit the Special Collections Reading Room to experience the legacy firsthand.
