The next time you’re driving down South Temple Street, look for Donna Harp Ziegenfuss, librarian in the Marriott Library’s Faculty Services Department, on a University of Utah lamp post banner! Specifically, Donna’s banner is on the north side of South Temple, east of T Street (1200 East).

This year’s banners are dedicated to faculty who received the U’s Distinguished Teaching Award in 2021 and 2022; Donna was one of the 2021 awardees.

Since the fall of 2011, Donna, as an instruction librarian, has worked with faculty and both undergraduate and graduate students. She focuses on topics such as information literacy teaching best practices, developing library research skills and teaching qualitative research skills for graduate students completing theses and dissertations. She has an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership and also serves as the librarian liaison to the College of Education. Donna is particularly interested in studying the practice of crossing disciplinary silo boundaries in higher education and developing effective and innovative librarian transdisciplinary teaching and research best practices.
