We’ve Got U Covered! Assistance with Researching COVID-19

Ask a librarian! Use this link to ask our librarians for assistance in researching anything related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Let’s face it. During this unusual moment in time, we all are spending generous amounts of time sorting through news reports, blogs, and emails, trying to determine what to keep in mind and what to discard. Finding credible, accurate information has never been more important.

This is why the three University of Utah libraries have come together to create COVID-19 guides for the students, faculty and the general public. Check out these numerous guides:

  • Health Literacy or “I didn’t go to medical school. What is my doctor trying to tell me?” : HERE
  • COVID-19 Up-to-date reliable, credible statistics and information: HERE
  • For Parents/ Families: A guide specially for parents/ families who are at home juggling work and the schooling their youngsters: HERE
  • Government Information and resources: HERE

    Hello!
I am working with a team on research related to
Domestic Violence in the Age of Covid 19: Understanding effects of stay-at-home orders
We are including phone interviews of stakeholders such as first responder, shelter directors, 911 Dispatch, and examining fatality tracker for 2019 and 2020.
Another component of our study includes news surveillance, content analysis including qualitative quotes. We are examining data for Utah for now, but eventually it will need to be expanded to a grant proposal…so we are collecting for the nation (and even some international articles, possibly for our UROP student).
Any tips you can give us are appreciated. I am going to leave my gmail account, where we are collecting our news articles and twitter information.

If you know of databases we should search, etc.. Just let us know.
    Thanks!
