This miniature atlas was produced specifically for women by Jacques Jean Pasquier with copper engravings by Louis Denis. The atlas includes fifty-six tables of the principal towns of the world and a page of reference for the maps; fifty-four plates, including sixteen plates, fifteen of which are hand-watercolored and relating to astronomy, the meridians and world climates; two hand-colored plates showing the eastern hemisphere and the western hemisphere; thirty-six double-page hand-colored maps, six of which are maps of the world and thirty of which are maps of France. Rare Books copy bound in contemporary mottled calf triple ruled in gilt with a gilt-tooled spine and gilt-lettered red morocco spine label. Marbled edges.
