Dean’s Message, March 2023

Celebrating Innovation

Technology can truly change lives. Join us on March 29, for the 26th annual William R. and Erlyn J. Gould Lecture on Technology and the Quality of Life, to learn how some of our brightest students and researchers are using robotics to help persons with disabilities.

Dr. Tommaso Lenzi, Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and a researcher in the Robotics Center at the University of Utah, will be our keynote speaker at this year’s Gould Lecture. One of Dr. Lenzi’s projects is the Utah Bionic Leg, a computerized and motorized prosthetic for leg amputees. The Utah Bionic Leg uses custom-designed sensors and motors to move like a biological leg.

Dr. Lenzi’s speech is free and open to the public. Please come and bring a friend.

Sincerely,
