Ski Affair Raises Funds, Celebrates Tremendous Ski Season, Impactful Individuals

The 2023 Ski Affair, held on October 25, was a tremendous event, raising more than $75,000 to support Special Collection’s Ski and Snow Sports Archives. What a remarkable demonstration of the community’s love for skiing and ski history!

  • 1,391 Opportunity Drawing Tickets were sold
  • $8,640 was raised through the Drawing
  • 320 people attended
  • Over $52,000 total in ticket sales and table sponsorships
  • $75,000 total raised!
Honorees:

Gregory C. Thompson (Greg), Ph.D., former Associate Dean for Special Collections at the Marriott Library, received the S. J. Quinney Award for outstanding contributions to skiing.

The late Jim Berry received posthumously the Sue Raemer Award, which recognizes volunteers who have made significant impact to the Ski and Snow Sports Archives.

A reporter and photographer from the student newspaper, the Daily Utah Chronicle, covered this spirited event!
