New Changes for Student Success

Dean’s Message, August 2026

A big welcome to our new students and faculty and those returning this Fall Semester! We’ve been working hard to have all the tools and services to make sure you have a successful semester.

One of our biggest changes is the addition of our Answer U service desks. These will be located at our level 1 & 3 information desks as well as the level 2 knowledge common desks. These desks will be more connected to campus services, so that they can be the first place you can go when you have a question. Whether it’s to learn how to drop a class, or where to get a textbook, we’ll be able to Answer U whether that’s in-person or through email, phone or chat. We’re excited to continue to make things easier for students; Answer U will continue to expand this service in the coming semesters.

Another change comes to our annual tradition of Fall Fest at the Library. This welcoming celebration helps new and returning students get a taste of what the library has to offer through tables showcasing every library service. We also will have food and prizes. The event will take place on Thursday, September 3rd from 10:30 AM until 1:00 PM and will take place in the new location of the level 1 lobby, with close proximity to the relocated ProtoSpace.

Whether or not you’ve had the chance to visit the library yet, we hope that you will find it a welcoming place, with staff ready to help you with whatever challenge you may face this semester.

A person stands on an upper-level balcony inside a modern library atrium, resting both hands on a metal railing. The person wears glasses and a bright magenta sweater over a dark collared shirt. The background features glass railings, tall columns, warm wood-paneled walls, and multiple floors of open library space. The image is softly lit with shallow depth of field, creating a blurred backdrop that emphasizes the subject in the foreground.

The library is here for U. Come see us!

Sincerely,
